Exclusive K9 Detection Services has K9 detection teams available to search private residences, automobiles, or any specific areas that are believed to be a location of hidden narcotics or alcohol. This program was designed to help family and loved ones with drug issues, so they may get a second chance before entering the criminal system or even worse.
It is quite common for family and friends of ill loved ones to be suspicious of hidden drugs. Sometimes suspicion needs to be followed by decisive action to help our loved ones. Exclusive K9 Detection Services can conduct a confidential, non-law enforcement search of suspected areas which can either confirm or alleviate your suspicion, providing you with peace of mind.
Our goal is not just to give you peace of mind, but also to be discreet when doing our searches, so that all involved are comfortable and do not feel threatened in any way. We believe the results of our searches can help start the process in providing the care and assistance for your loved one’s recovery.
Prior to arrival at your residence, we will call you to devise a plan of action upon our arrival, and discuss the following:
Upon arrival to your home the handler will come to your door, leaving the canine in their vehicle. The handler will confirm that any pets that you own are confined to a safe area of your house and will ask you for a tour of the search areas. After the tour, the handler will discuss the plan of action and answer any questions before the search begins. The Handler will also collect payment and have you sign Exclusive K9’s standard services agreement.
The search. The K9 team will then begin the search with you accompanying them throughout the home. The handler will lead the dog through each room in a designated pattern paying attention to signs that the dog may show. The handler will mark all areas of dog alerts. This gives you the specific location where you can look for drugs or evidence of drugs once the search of all areas is complete. If requested, the handler will then observe the search for narcotics by the homeowner. The handler will give general guidance to the homeowner of how and where to look but will not actually do the search. Keep in mind, the dog’s nose is so sensitive it may alert on residue of where drugs may have been previously stored, but the drugs may not be present at the time of the search.
If substances are found. If narcotics/alcohol are found it is the responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of the narcotics/alcohol. Exclusive K9 personnel are strictly prohibited from removing the narcotics. Exclusive K9 will provide disposal recommendations. If you would like a written report, we will provide that to you.
